"Pom Poms" by Jonas Brothers: FUN!

Hello Beautiful people!!!

Sorry for taking so long to post again... It's been a rough week between exams and projects and people, BUT I survived. HA!

Well... As you know I analyze whatever you recommend me or whatever comes to my mind and a year ago today my favorite band released one of their last videos. They are not a band anymore and even though this video isn't their best work, it has good things and it is super fun to watch... So here we go! This is "Pom Poms" performed by the Jonas Brothers:

Let's start with the song:

TBH the lyrics are nonsense, but they are fun and basically talk about partying. Some of us as fans say they are talking about sexual things they couldn't let out when they were working for Disney but those are major words so let's just say their song seems meaningless. It is just one song we listen to when we feel like running in circles in our rooms at midnight.

Their production isn't anything special because the beats are just digital arrangements they put in to make it a little less acoustic and more likable to the radio stations and people in general and I think they failed. This sexual and "mature" things made them looked dumb instead of different from the Disney boys.

Now... Talking about the visual things I must say the director and photographer weren't that bad. They had an style and they made the best they could with the Jonas boys' ideas...

First of all: You can tell their photographer was really into his work and did a pretty good job with the important things being on focus. Everything is perfectly place in the space and what needs to look clear looks pretty clear:

Plus he uses the perfect open spaces because it is all about feeling free:

One of my favorite things in this video is the light management. It is pretty good. They took the lighting as part of the video style and put rays of light every once in a while here and there to make it look natural and bright:

As a photographer I can assure you one of the most terrifying things in this business is working with night, darkness and brighting nocturnal things. In this music video the photographer makes it look simple and perfect:

There isn't too much light nor less than what's needed... The photographer uses enough light for us to see what's going on and plays with it in a perfect simple way giving the guys the spotlight without hurting our eyes everywhere:

(This thing about him in the front completely dark looks pretty cool!)

One of the most important things about a music video is the rhythm. The editor needs to be a really good one to make a mix of shots without boring the audience... What I mean is that you can even watch this music video without any sound or with a different song and you will NEVER EVER find it boring. The sequence is perfectly place in the exact time where you need to cut and jump to the next move. THIS IS WHAT HELPS THE SONG. The rhythm in the video is what makes you wanna move your feet!

And well... This is all I have to say about the video... I know most people doesn't like this band less this kind of music but I had to write about it to make some of you look at things in a different way. This might not be their best song but the video is good and fun, also you will find different and excellent songs but their videos might be awful... Nothing/Nobody is perfect.

See you pretty soon with a Blake Shelton video! BYE!
